There are many Inuit women who possess amazing power within themselves, and reflect that power in the positions they hold. The directors talk to activists, politicians, legal experts and front-line workers who are trying to change the reality of a failed ‘system’.

In this first episode, Elders from different communities share their knowledge and experiences from a time before and after colonization. A time when gender roles were clearer and life was simpler in some ways. Though it becomes evident that keeping the same values from that time to today, presents conflicting messages to women facing violence.
